Based in San Francisco, California, Mehrdad Javaherian, PhD, PE, leads Endpoint Consulting, Inc., as its Technical Director. Focused on environmental remediation, Dr. Mehrdad Javaherian has helped create the patented Vapor Energy Generator (VEG) system, which is mobile and uses onsite and off-site technologies in enabling the remediation of soils.
The VEG provides thermal soil treatment within an enclosed chamber that is designed to prevent emissions through a series of patented filters. A key advantage of the ex-situ technology is that it is highly sustainable, as much of the contaminant mass generated through soil treatment are converted to a fuel source for the equipment’s operation. This decreases costs, as well as being beneficial for the environment.
With the VEG employing recycled water and propane as initial steam generators, the process’ end result is to remediate soil contaminants such that the soil is eligible for unrestricted reuse. The process is additionally useful in enabling the enhanced recovery of non-aqueous phase liquids and oil.
