A consultant with Endpoint Consulting in San Francisco, Mehrdad Javaherian advises on matters related to public health, environmental remediation, and sustainability. Before completing his PhD in environmental epidemiology, Mehrdad Javaherian earned a BS in civil engineering at California Polytechnic University (Cal Poly), which recently announced a new dean of the College of Engineering.
Dr. Amy S. Fleischer joins Cal Poly after teaching 18 years at Villanova University, where she was also the chair of mechanical engineering. Dr. Fleischer founded Villanova’s “Engineering is for Girls! Day” and participated in a committee on diversity and inclusion.
With research interests in thermal management of electronic systems and sustainable energy system design, Dr. Fleischer also serves as the director of the NovaTherm Research Laboratory. Cal Poly Provost Kathleen Enz Finken said the university is excited about the commitment to teaching and research that Dr. Fleischer brings to her new role in the College of Engineering.
